Dr. Cynthia Sathekga, a certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Elbow, Wrist, and Hand procedures, holds a distinguished fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery from the renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute at the University of Louisville, located in Kentucky, USA. Following her fellowship, she honed her expertise at Jishuitan Hospital in Beijing, China, during 2015. There, she solidified her proficiency in Hand and Microsurgery, with a particular emphasis on addressing work-related hand injuries. Dr. Sathekga’s practice encompasses a wide spectrum of specialities, including brachial plexus surgery, burn contractures, congenital deformities, sports and occupational trauma injuries, alongside comprehensive treatment of elbow, wrist, and hand pathologies.

Dr. Sathekga’s practice is a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence and comprehensive patient care. Moreover, her dedication extends beyond the confines of the operating room, encompassing the broader realm of sports and occupational trauma injuries. Dr. Cynthia Sathekga has dedicated over seven years to private practice, currently conducting sessions at the University of Free State. Prior to this, she contributed her expertise at the Hand Unit within Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, renowned as the third-largest hospital globally, affiliated with the University of Witwatersrand. There, she served as both a lecturer and an examiner, imparting knowledge and shaping future generations of medical professionals. Dr. Sathekga’s commitment to education extends beyond the lecture hall; she actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and spearheads various courses, notably the Microsurgery course. Embracing the ethos of accessible, high-quality healthcare, she remains actively engaged in orthopedic initiatives in Limpopo, advocating for improved medical services and outcomes in the region.
